SESSION OPEN 01 February 2016

The January 2015 meeting of the Advisory Board is now hereby adjourned.
This note hereby convenes the February 2016 meeting of the Advisory Board.

Motion 2015/16-04 Motion to Appoint Special Projects Advisory Board Member 20 January 2016
Having heard no objections to this motion, the motion passes to appoint Jo
Branch to fill the position of Advisory Board member for Special Projects.

As Jo Branch is being appointed in the midst of a term, she will fill this
position through the next election cycle or through August 31, 2016.

Pursuant to Article VI. DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS OF ADVISORY BOARD, Section H.
In the event a board member is unable to complete his/her term, the
Advisory Board will appoint a replacement to serve until the next scheduled
election. That being said, we hope that Jo Branch will place her name for
election in the upcoming election.

Congratulations to Jo Branch for being selected by the Advisory Board to
serve as the Advisory Board Representative for the Special Projects!

I would like to thank each of the volunteers who submitted their interest
in filling the vacant position on the Advisory Board as representative for
the Special Projects.

During an Executive Session, the Advisory Board selected Jo Branch to fill
this position.

Thank you for being willing to serve The USGenWeb Project. It is much
appreciated!

Motion 2015/16-05 Motion to Approve three (3) 20th Anniversary Logos 30 January 2015
Having heard no objection to the above-stated Motion, this Motion has
passed.

The Motion to Approve three (3) 20th Anniversary Logos, as presented by
Larry Flesher, seconded by Annie Geoghegan, dated January 23, 2016, and
numbered 2015/16-05, and amended by motion of Joy Fisher to add additional
words to the motion, the motion now reads as follows:

"I move that we approve, by general consent, all three 20th Anniversary
logos, said logos to be approved for use only during our 20th anniversary
year and must be removed in July 2017."

Presently the logos are located at the below link. Any of these 3 logos
may be used on any USGW state, county or special project page. They must
be removed during the month of July 2017.

Announcement Call for Volunteers for the Grievance Committee 30 January 2016
Call for Volunteers

The Grievance Committee of USGenWeb is in need of volunteers. The prior
chair has been seated in a different position, and we are not aware of any
other members at the present time sitting on the Grievance Committee. If
you are a current member, please contact me as soon as possible.

Please submit your interest to any of the Advisory Board members, or reply
to this email indicating your interest in serve on the Grievance
Committee.

If you have the following attributes, you could be a perfect addition to
the Grievance Committee:

(1) An even disposition
(2) Reliability and timeliness
(3) An ability to suspend judgment and distance themselves from their own
views in order to hear other points of view
(4) An ability and willingness to propose solutions that are fair,
equitable and consistent with the policies and philosophy of the Project
(5) Good basic communication [writing by e-mail] skills and an ability to
compromise and get along with others.

Interested individuals should send the following information to me at
ncusgenweb@gmail.com or to any Advisory Board member. Their names and
email addresses are listed at the National Page (www.usgenweb.org), at the
top of the page, CLICK ON VOLUNTEERS, then in the right hand column click
on ADVISORY BOARD. All current AB members are listed there. The necessary
information is:

(1) Your name
(2) Your e-mail address
(3) Your current position(s) in the USGENWEB Project or an
affiliated Special Project,
(4) A brief statement of why you believe you would be qualified for
this kind of volunteer position.

Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from volunteers who are interested
in assisting this Grievance Committee of The USGenWeb Project.
