| Announcement : A Call for Election Committee Volunteers |
09 April 2013 Our annual election is just around the corner, and a majority of the EC positions are being vacated as long time volunteers are moving on or retiring. We need several volunteers to fill the vacant positions on the Election Committee. Any member of the project eligible to vote is eligible for membership in the EC, the exception being members of the Advisory Board. Please consider volunteering to the Election Committee. The EC is an interesting and very friendly group; and next to maintaining your individual web sites, the work you will do with this committee is one of the most important and necessary jobs in the USGenWeb. The EC is charged with conducting the National Election each summer, but also conducts appropriate polls and SC elections upon request, as well as maintaining the member and voter registration lists. The following links are helpful if you want additional information. http://www.usgenweb.org/usgwelections/ec-manual/001-sec.htm http://usgenweb.org/usgwelections/2012-ec/2012current.htm http://www.usgwelections.org/procedures.html http://usgenweb.org/usgwelections/ec-manual/text/ec-about.txt If you can volunteer, please contact Gayle Triller - gaylelt@comcast.net If you have any questions, contact me or your regional representative. http://www.usgenweb.org/about/advisoryboard.shtml We would like to hear from you by Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Tina Vickery Representative at Large USGenWeb Project 17 April 2013 The Election Committee has submitted a slate of volunteers to fill their open seats on the Committee. The Advisory is now in Executive Session to discuss the Election Committee's submitted slate of volunteers. 18 April 2013 May I please hear a general consent motion to approve this slate of USGenWeb Project Election Committee voluneers. The USGenweb Project Election Committee submits the following slate: "Any member of the project who is eligible to vote is eligible for membership in the EC, the exception being that no Advisory Board member may serve as a working member of the EC. From the list of volunteers, the EC shall select new or replacement members for the EC. This list of volunteers shall then be submitted to the Advisory Board for approval and confirmation. The Advisory Board shall not be allowed to "pick and choose" any individual committee member, but must approve or disapprove the slate as a whole.. Should the Advisory Board disapprove the slate of members in its entirety, the process shall be repeated." OFFICERS: Chair [vacant]: Election will be held per guidelines upon the seating of volunteers. Secretary/Publicist [vacant]: Election will be held per guidelines upon the seating of volunteers.
