Call for Project Webmaster (4 Nov 2008) By Sherri Bradley
The USGenWeb Project is recruiting a web master and assistant webmaster to maintain its USGenWeb Project National pages. You will fine an outline of the qualifications and duties in sections 2, 3 and 5 of Motion 2008/09-04, restated below.
If you are interested, please send a short statement of your qualifications and reference urls of sites you host for the Advisory Board to consider.

Call For Newsletter Committee Volunteers

Based on the discussion on this subject on ABCHAT, the following seems to be the concensus of the Board members to use as the call for Project volunteers interested in serving on the Newsletter Committee. Remaining members of the Committee are invited to remain as a part of the group.
Basic requirements for membership on the Newsletter Committee:
-- Access to computer with desktop publishing, word processing and/or html editing software and internet access.
-- Previous experience with newsletters or other publications desirable.
-- Excellent writing and text editing skills.
-- Graphics/photo-editing skills a plus.
-- Excellent communication skills.
-- Willingness to be part of a team.
-- Understanding of the importance of professionalism. The newsletter is one
of the public faces of USGenWeb Project and it is important for it to be professional in content and appearance. It may be used as a recruitment or publicity tool at conferences or sent to organizations that are not currently members for PR purposes, for example.

The Kidz Project is a USGenWeb Special Project with a focus of helping kids learn about genealogy. It will be undergoing to a rehab under the leadership of Dee Pavey in the very near future. If you have an interest in this project as a volunteer or have some ideas for the growth of the project, please contact Dee at Pcmom@aol.com. Initially, the project will need an assistant coordinator and other volunteers may be needed as the project grows.

In anticipation of appointing a Web master and Assistant Web Master for the National pages, I would like to ask for volunteers to serve as the Advisory Board liaison to the Web Master.
Advisory Board Representatives who are interested in the position please indicate your willingness by Friday, November14 here on Board-L.
A public vote will be conducted to choose the liaison.

The USGenWeb Project Advisory Board has received 4 letters of interest for the Web master and Assistant Web master position. Charles Hartley, Jeff Kemp, Linda Simpson and Adrian Williams.
With this note, the Advisory Board is in Executive session to review the letters interest of these candidates.
