SESSION OPEN	02 December 2012 The November 2012 minutes of the USGenWeb Project's Advisory Board is adjourned. The December meeting is convened. Announcement: Notice Received from Ron Eason, of the USGENWEB CENSUS PROJECT	13 December 2012 The members of the Advisory Board of THE USGENWEB PROJECT received Sat, 24 Nov 2012 11:01:17 -0800 the following notice from Ron Eason, of the USGENWEB CENSUS PROJECT: "You are hereby notified, that the letter we initially allowed you to use when first filing for use of the name with Trademark Office is herewith revoked. This letter will serve as your notification, and it will be held and passed to all future Presidents of this legal entity to deny its use ever again. The USGW Project has done nothing to try and fix the problem past Boards and individuals created and therefore we will no longer aid the USGW Project in the future." Subsequently (Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2012 21:26:59 -0500) Linda Talbot, also affiliated with the USGENWEB CENSUS PROJECT wrote to your Advisory Board that: "pursuant to a unanimous vote of the USGenWeb Census ProjectR Board of Directors, taken on November 25, 2012, all USGenWeb logos and wording to include "Special Project of..." and "Dedicated to the benefit of.." are to be removed from our pages. While there may be a stray page, not yet noticed, this was accomplished at 12:48 a.m., November 26, 2012." Mr. Eason and Mrs. Talbot have been notified that: The Advisory Board has no objection to their removal of links to usgenweb.org They have not been a member of USGENWEB since the passage of motion 00-10 http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/temp/official/boardvotes-00-2.html#00-10, motion passed 4 May 2000. We have also notified Mr. Eason and Ms. Talbot, that, while their revocation of the 2001 agreement regarding possible confusion of the names: THE USGENWEB PROJECT and THE USGENWEB CENSUS PROJECT affects their registration of their service mark, it does not affect the ownership of the USGENWEB service mark by THE USGENWEB PROJECT; and your Advisory Board will take whatever steps necessary to defend and retain ownership of our identity as exemplified by our registered service mark.
