2010 Deceased Name: Elva Morgan Elva (Nolan) Morgan passed away at Palemeto Baptist Hospital in Columbia, S.C. on May 28, 2010. Her daughter Dawn and Sister Elizabeth was by her side during her short battle with cancer. She will be missed by those who followed her posting on the Internet about Harlan County. She was born October 1941 in Brookside, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Ruby Nolan, husband John (Jack), son Mark and three brothers, Archie, Jackie, and Wilburn Wayne. She is survived by her son Byran (Nevada) and daughters Christine Illinois), Cynthia and Teresa (Nevada), Dawn Keefe (Chris) Blythewood S C). Sister Elizabeth Ligocki (Harv) Nevada, three brothers Bob (Jean) Totz, Ky., Adrian Jr. (Nevada), and Bill Nolan (Cele) Illinois. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, two who were very special to her (Ricky and Cody). No services are planned. Her ashes will be put to rest with her late husband at the V.A. Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. Cremation was at Kornegay and Moseley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Columbia, S.C. |

Nancy L. "Annie" Whiteman, 60, 1641 St. Francis Lane, Altoona, died unexpectedly Sunday morning at her residence. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Alfred and Naomi (Mellot) Fuchs. Her mother preceded her in death. She married Raymond J. Whiteman Dec. 22, 1965, at Grace Bible Church. Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Kayla Detwiler and husband, Ed, of Duncansville and Kerry Roesch and husband, Brian, of Middletown, Del.; her father of Harrisburg, Ill.; and two brothers: David Fuchs and Ken Fuchs, both of Duncansville. She was known as "Gumby" to her eight grandchildren: Colin Brinkhoff, Conor Brinkhoff, Reid Brinkhoff, Torey Roesch, Mara Roesch, Nathan Detwiler, Cassie Detwiler and Bailey Detwiler. Annie had a great love for her family and grandchildren. She had been the former librarian and member of the Blair County Genealogical Society and director of the PA Genealogical Web site, GenWeb. Annie was a volunteer at the Women's Homeless Shelter. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg (www.pssfh.com). Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. |

Arthur M. Griffiths - January 30, 2005 Oxford County Coordinator, The MEGenWeb Project Arthur passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2005. He served within the MEGenWeb Project as County Coordinator of Oxford County, and as host of many town pages within the MEGenWeb Project. Arthur's life and work embraced history and its preservation. His time and dedication to the MEGenWeb Project and the Maine genealogical community will be sorely missed. |

Joe Mitchell Robinson - 1954 - 2004 Joel was interested in genealogy and contributed his family information to the Marshall County WVGenWeb site. He also transcribed the 1870 Liberty District census while he was working away from home. He was particularly proud of having claimed the Civil War medals of FIVE of his relatives who served in West Virginia regiments during the Civil War. The medals were claimed from the West Virginia State Archives after providing documentary proof of his relationship to the soldiers. |
Mary K Goodyear 1954-2004 Mary K was a loving mother, wife and friend. She took her personal time to help anyone who contacted her to help them with their family tree at no charge. She was a dedicated genealogist who gave of herself endlessly. Her death is a great loss within the Johnson Co. Kentucky community. She started the Johnson Co website in 1996 and spent years making it a site where all could visit and learn about their family trees. |
Jo Caula Gregg Thiessen - 1931 - 2004 Jo Thiessen joined the KYGenWeb Project in April 1996 when the KYGenWeb Project was just being formed as coordinator for the Scott and Woodford County sites. In addition to acting county coordinator for Scott and Woodford Counties, she later also took on Harrison County for the KYGenWeb Project and she was deeply involved with all things historical in Scott County, KY. |
Bill Clody - August 2004 Fascinated by genealogy, Bill Clody managed the Walker County section of the online GAGenWeb Project, part of the USGenWeb Project. He traveled to Tennessee and North Carolina and compiled quite a family tree, going back some 200 years. Memorial Page for Bill |

Jeff Murphy was one of the people responsible for the birth of The USGenWeb Project. Jeff played an integral role in starting the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project, which evolved into the KyGenWeb Project. It was Jeff who set up the first USGenWeb main page with Kentucky and Arkansas having the first state sites. For his efforts we owe Jeff a tremendous debt of gratitude. Jeff was 54 years old when he passed away in in Gresham, Oregon on May 20, 2001. He leaves a wife, Debra, and two small children. |
Roy Wheeler Roy Wheeler was the archivist for Gallatin and Trimble County, Ky with the Ky Archives, part of the USGenWeb Archives. He passed away March 21, 2001. Roy 'Bucky' Wheeler, loved genealogy research and took every opportunity to ex plore families' histories. "He was really into it," said his sister, Atha Stewart of Sanders. "He started by tracing our own families. He had us back to the 1700s." Mr. Wheeler had his own genealogy Web page and loved talking about genealogy. "He was very easy going and well-liked, and he tried to draw people out about their families because he was interested in their ancestry," says Mrs. Stewart. Mr. Wheeler, 57, of Carrollton, died at 2:44 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a retired service manager with Pepsi-Cola and a member of Sparta Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight in the funeral home. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery. |

Pat Barnes was the County Coordinator for the Roane County WVGenWeb Project. She passed away April 4, 2000. Pat was also very active in the Roane County Historical Society and will be greatly missed by many. Pat passed away on April 4th (2000) at Riverside Hospital. Ronald Odis SINGLETON - 27 April 1940 -- 15 January 1997
Ronald had green eyes, brown hair, was 5' 11" and weighed about 189 lbs. He had been diabetic for around 12 years or so. Ron was a resident of the City of St. Louis, Missouri. He was researching the Singleton and Boyer families of Puxico, Mo. and Stoddard Co., Mo. Ronald was a very quiet man but he meant what he said when he said something. He was an active member of the Meramec Heights Assembly of God, and enjoyed talking about the Bible. He was very thrilled to be a part of The USGenWeb Project and he took it to heart and worked very long hours on it and he loved it. Ida is very proud of him concerning his love for the project and that The USGenWeb Project loved and will miss him. Ron will always be in our hearts and memory. Ron is buried at the Corith Baptist Church Cemetery, Salem, Mo. Ron was a great asset to our organization, having been the state coordinator for both Nevada and Colorado. He also supported St. Louis County in Missouri, and was one of the USGenWeb project archivists. |
