Spotlight County of the Month
Scott County, AR
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~arscott/scott.htm

Kudos from our peers is always a great thing, but unsolicited kudos from a visitor simply makes our day. The Spot Light County of the Month award this month goes to Scott County AR - Delaine Edwards, CC. Delaine's site was chosen because a visitor took the time to write to the AR SC and express her appreciation. Here's what Elaine Blackwell Thomasson had to say:

"I love Genweb, and always look at the appropriate county site when I am doing research for a particular family or individual. The quality and quantity of information varies hugely, as I am sure you are aware.

"Fortunately for me, a lot of my research is done in Scott County, Arkansas. Scott County is certainly not a wealthy place, and its resources are limited, but the dedicated group of volunteers at the Scott County Historical Society make a huge difference.

"Especially to be commended is Delaine Edwards, the tireless coordinator for Scott County. Delaine is personally adding many cemetery listings to the county pages, and she is fantastic at answering questions, and directing people to appropriate resources. She is quick and accurate, and remembers an astonishing amount of information. If I wrote to her right now and asked her for information contained in some of the resources that the county volunteers have assembled, she would write back quickly and completely. She up loads pictures, county records, and much more.

"I hope there is some way that you recognize and honor especially deserving volunteers. If so, Delaine Edwards should be on your short list. She is amazing."
