-- If you are handling the nominees -- A copy of the nomination will arrive on the EC List, minus the nominators name. It will probably look something like this: Nominee: George Washington Nominee's email: DePrez@valleyforge.org Nominated for: SWSC CC Representative Qualifying county, state or project: Tea Party County Qualifying state (where applicable): CA ... ... ... ... ... ... If it is a nomination for a seat in your region/position, you get to handle it. First verify that the nominee is a member in the region/project for which he is nominated, and in good standing, by checking the Membership List. Write to the nominee informing him of the nomination, and ask if he will accept. Post a note to the list that you have sent him a note. The nominee must reply within 48 hours of the time stamp of your note. If he fails to reply within that time frame, his nomination will not be processed, and he will have to be re-nominated if he later decides he wants to run. This is to give those nominated on the last day the same opportunity to reply as someone nominated on the first day, yet give the EC time to finalize the ballot. If a nominee has already accepted a nomination for another position, the nominee must make a choice. *No one can be a candidate for two or more positions.* If the nominee declines to accept, post a note to the EC List to that effect. If the nominee accepts, you will need to verify his eligibility for the seat by sending a verification request to the appropriate individual. [See note: Who to Contact For Eligibility Verification] FYI: Nominees do not have to be registered in order to be eligible. It means they won't receive a password, because they didn't register, but it doesn't mean they have lost their eligibility to register and vote, or to hold an AB seat. Also, registration information is confidential. CC Rep Position Qualifications: Nominees for CC Representative shall have at least one year (the twelve months immediately preceding an election) of continuous service and current activity as a member in good standing as a Local Coordinator within in the region, and eligibility to vote within The USGenWeb Project. SC Rep Position Qualifications: Nominees for SC Representative shall have at least one year (the twelve months immediately preceding an election) of continuous service and current activity as a member in good standing as a State Coordinator, Assistant State Coordinator, or Co-State Coordinator within in the region, and eligibility to vote within The USGenWeb Project. NC Position Qualifications: "Nominees for National Coordinator shall have the following qualifications: a. at least one year (the twelve months immediately preceding an election) of continuous service b. and current activity as a member in good standing, c. and eligibility to vote within The USGenWeb Project." RAL Position Qualifications: Same as for NC. The twelve months immediately preceding an election applies to 1 July, the actual start of the election. Please remember to send note to EC List as you complete each step. This is really important.
