RootsWeb Help List: A mail list to help those with pages on the RootsWeb server. You can subscribe by sending a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Whether you have your pages at RootsWeb, Skyways, or another server, it is highly recommended that everyone sub to this list. Lots of helpful information is given, not just concerning the RootsWeb server, but help of any kind.
State Coordinators List: All state and assistant state coordinators should sub to the SC mail list. This list is a requirement for state coordinators. This is where all aspects of the project are discussed. You would then forward any messages of interest to your state to your county coordinators through your state mail list. Since this list is restricted to State Coordinators and Assistant State Coordinators you must be subbed to the list by the National Coordinator. To subscribe send an e-mail to the National Coordinator giving your name and the state you represent. Archives for the SC list are accessed by the name of state-coord.
The sheer number of bouncing email from the various project lists has gotten way out of hand, so we're implementing the following procedure, 2-25-97, to help get a handle on the problem: If your E-mail bounces or is returned as an unknown user or unknown host or you have a full mailbox for more then 7 days, you will be removed from the list to which you are subscribed. (List owners might have a more stringent policy on bouncing mail.) If you find you are not getting the list or lists you are subscribed to, you may need to re-subscribe.
Comments and administrative-type problems should be emailed to the National Coordinator. For complaints regarding a specific web site within the USGenWeb Project, please include the URL when emailing the National Coordinator.
